Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge of 2014 that raised money for ALS? Well, this summer our YPN group at the Citrus Valley Association of REALTORS® came up with a similar challenge to raise money for the REALTORS® Relief Foundation to help those affected by recent natural disasters. We called it the Summer Splash Challenge.
Now that the challenge is over, I wanted to give a quick recap. I’m happy to say that it was a HUGE success. Not only did we have more than 50 participants, the REALTORS® Relief Foundation reported a spike in donations. We estimate that about $3,000 was raised.
I think the bigger win for RRF was raising awareness nationwide about the program. Locally, we had REALTORS® participate who previously were not actively involved in the association. It was great to help educate and reach those members who don’t always hear our messages.
We wish we had more video clips to share, however we feel that the goal of raising awareness about RRF was met, especially in our local area. We also feel this initiative helped raise awareness about what YPN does, helping to fight the stigma that YPN is just the party network. I would love to see this become a larger national YPN fundraiser in the future.
