This year’s NAR conference and Expo is going to be one for the ages. I haven’t even been to New Orleans and despite all the talk of oil leaks and Post-Katrina Syndrome, I’m still very excited about this trip to the land of Bourbon Street, beads, and body shots. Here are a few reasons why:
- It’s Home to the Super Bowl Champion Saints…and Drew Brees. Considering everything that’s happened to New Orleans in the past few years, how can you not be a fan of the Saints? And now I have a connection who can possibly introduce me to Saints QB Drew Brees: YPN Subcommittee member Rogers Healy, Drew’s REALTOR®.
While that has a slim chance of happening, wishful thinking never hurt anybody…and I still get to hang out with Rogers.
- One Word: FOOD. I’m looking forward to finding a nice, sweaty oyster bar and eating unlimited oysters, shrimp, and crawdads (I believe that’s the local term for them).
I’ve also got to find something to pour Tabasco® Sauce all over.
- The YPN Reception. Last year’s event in San Diego was exceptional and drew a crowd of 325. We’re going for 400 this year and between the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, and the Warehouse District, the possibilities are endless.
- And the Best Part of Attending NARdiGras: The People.
I will have been with NAR and YPN for just over a year by the time NARdiGras arrives and I have to say that in that time, I have been honored to meet so many amazing people from all over the country…and all over the Internet. It’s an incredible experience and I encourage all of YPN to attend! Register here today!

I cannot wait until NARdi Gras! This is my third time with NAR and it keeps getting better and better. As for the food, Commander’s Palace, NOLA, Antoine’s – and last but not least, Mother’s – all have my heart (and stomach). It’ll be here before we know it!
