Such a great post, I could not agree more with you. We need to STOP selling and build our relationships and trust.
Ill never break up with facebook. They are my soulmate…and they say love at first sight doesnt happen…
Nice Post… I actually like having the business page separate from my personal profile. Sets that boundary between work and play… but you’re right, you do have to make time for the personal relations, or it is pointless.
Thanks for sharing.
Hey Waylon – thanks for watching and commenting! – SH
Sameer – Ha yes … just break-up with your business page. Keep the personal profile š – SH
Hello Randy – I used to think the same thing, but now I am thinking that just using my groups with the privacy options is going to be enough to hold that line. – SH
Very nice! I think your post is right on!! – Matthew
Right on, Stefanie! It’s about connecting and relating…the business will come once the relationships are there.
For those agents who spend every day bragging about their business online, I hear people every day complaining about those bragging Realtors and how obnoxious they are. I mean, a mention here and there, sure, but the non-stop sales pitch turns people away.
Great thought-provoking info, Stephanie! Wonderful comments, too. As a real estate agent safety trainer, I get to talk about social media safety and FaceBook often, too. I need to remind everyone that it is against FB policy to promote your business on your personal profile/page. They can remove your profile! It is a good idea to keep them separate for safety reasons, that is not so social, I know…. However, you are encouraged to get a business page for business.
You need to keep personal info as private as possible, (although there is no such thing as privacy online- no matter what your privacy setting are). However, your business associates/clients should not know your family details, personal pastimes and be a party to your personal photos and vacation stories.
There has to be a way to make your business page more “friendly”, I do agree about that. I love the video/audio idea! They can hear your voice discussing professional topics and info. Start interactive discussions (that is a hard one to master), but you can figure it out! September is NAR Agent Safety Month. Be safe and social, Agents!
