I arrived home yesterday from the REALTORS® Conference & Expo in Anaheim, Calif. I felt invigorated and yet somewhat overwhelmed. I had taken so much in while at the conference and my REALTOR® A.D.D. kicked right in. All the information I received while at the conference was amazing and I really didn’t know where to begin implementing the things I learned.
There were many sessions I attended where I learned valuable tools to use in my business. But I have to say, I learned the most from the fellow agents I met while at the conference. I never realized how much other agents would be willing to share with me.
On my plane ride in, I met Deanna Wiener, Broker/Owner of Cardinal Realty in Oakdale, MN. We spent a good amount of time while in flight discussing our business. It was terrific to hear about her business as she was a veteran agent and had so much insight on our real estate market. I was able to share some things with her as well. It was a great start to the weekend.
I met some really amazing people while at the conference. Fellow agents were so willing to share information with me. At times, I was really taken back by other REALTORS®’ generosity.
I at one point chuckled when I met Mike Lafido Broker/Owner from Exit Realty Chicago asked me “What can I do to help you?” I kind of thought, “You are from Chicago…what can you do to help me?”
This proves the point of what the conference is all about. We are all here to help our business. We all have our struggles and need to find ways to improve our business. There is always something new to be learned.
To the REALTORS® I was able to connect with over the weekend, it was such a pleasure. You all made me really proud to be a REALTOR®.
On my plane ride home, I once again ran into my new friend Deanna. She asked me what I thought about the conference. At that point, I was pretty overwhelmed and exhausted. I didn’t quite know how to answer. It was a great experience. I walked away with some really valuable information. Not to mention, the new contacts and friends I have made.
If you have never attended a conference, I would recommend you do so. It’s a really great experience and it’s something you will never regret!

This was only my third Annual Conference, but already I know that what you experienced was just the beginning. Every year holds new treasure troves of information and contacts. I might be beginning to re-acclimate to EST and the cold, but I am already looking forward to Orlando (with Mid-Year to help tide me over). I hope I meet you there, Brooke.
I totally agree with your commentary. I learn more at that conferance in 4 days than probably all year. The speakers are well versed and supply so much information it make my head spin. My wife and I try to go every year. I’m a nerd on the computer and she’s not sure how to turn it on, so we work together very well. Thanks for sharing, Dave
