The YPN Advisory Board meeting was standing-room only, and the board had many updates about what they’ve been working on at the 2026 REALTORS® Legislative Meetings in Washington, D.C.
First, each committee member relayed the committees that they are also members of within the National Association of REALTORS®. Each YPN Advisory Board member participates on an NAR committee and acts as liaison so that YPN knows what’s going on at the broader association level.
This year, YPN saw nine revitalized or new networks formed. They represent every corner of the country:
- South Bend Area REALTORS® in Indiana
- Bayou Board of REALTORS® in Louisiana
- Maryland Association of REALTORS®
- Victoria Area Association of REALTORS® in Texas
- Greater Palm Springs REALTORS® in California
- Nevada County Association of REALTORS® in California
- Kent County Association of REALTORS® in Deleware
- Newnan-Coweta Board of REALTORS® in Georgia
- Carroll County Board of REALTORS® in Maryland
Committee applications are open for 2027 and need to be in by June 24th. Advisory Board Chair Brandi Minchillo reminded the room that those interested need up to three written endorsements included with their applications, so anyone interested should start working on those soon.
The “cross-pollination” subcommittee is working on identifying NAR-adjacent organizations that YPN can support and collaborate with. One such example is the Asian Real Estate Association of America, whose group, EDGE, is similar to YPN and focuses on mentoring the next generation of real estate leaders. Subcommittee members have had promising conversations with AREAA and will provide updates as the relationship progresses.
Also, each YPN Advisory Board members is given a travel stipend so they can visit YPNs around the country to share their expertise and speak at events. Thus far, advisory board members have traveled to nine locations and have 18 more trips planned. The board reminded everyone that if they want an advisory board member to come to their network, now is the time to get those requests in.
Other issues that came up included how to use the YPN Roundtables time at the REALTORS® Legislative Meetings and NAR NXT. The advisory board wanted to make sure that roundtables are being used in the best and most productive way for YPN attendees. Though no changes were decided on in the meeting, advisory board members plan to continue discussing ideas.
YPN Advance, which is scheduled this year for Aug. 26-27 in Chicago, was also a topic of conversation. The advisory board presented the schedule for the highly-attended event and discussed ways to ensure that new YPN members in attendance felt comfortable in the room and left the event feeling like it was worth the time.
