The year is about to turn, as it always does, toward new beginnings. Since stepping into this industry in 2012, I’ve come to discover that real estate is never simple, never stagnant and rarely predictable. But that uncertainty can be infused with promise is we let it. We can turn it into a sense that great work is always ahead. I’m writing today’s post to take a pause, take a look around and carry what matters to me most into 2026.

Be More Patient

Everyone was a rookie once, including me. My hope for 2026 that you give yourself the gift of grace, guidance and attention as you build your business. Grace for the hard days. Guidance and attention from mentors and brokers who want to help you build. Patience builds confidence. Confidence builds better agents. And better agents will build a better industry.

Attend at Least One Real Estate Conference

Bonus points if it’s a state or national conference. Learn, recharge and get inspired by those raising the bar in the real estate world.

Spend More Time Away from Screens

My eyeballs have taken in enough blue light for multiple lifetimes. Next year, I want to write more postcards, spend more time in nature and enjoy more meals with my phone face-down.

Commit to Building Relationships, Not Just Leads

Next year, I want to shift away from cold pipelines and keep building relationships. I want my business to be as close to 100% referral based as possible.

My goal is simple: earn trust, deliver massive value and cultivate relationships until referrals become the natural outcome. By staying present with past customers, investing in the people who invest in me and deepening every connection, I aim to refine my business so it thrives based on loyalty and the quality of our service.

Be More Present During Showings

Showings are the stage on which our business truly plays out. They serve as a moment where preparation, experience and attention to detail come together as one. Next year, I want to revisit this aspect of my work, and step fully into each showing. I want to be fully present and give every client my undivided attention, insight and energy.

Pay It Forward

Generosity spreads, and I want to help it. Whether it’s mentoring, sharing knowledge or calling to thank someone that helped me along my journey, I want to pay it forward so that generosity can ripple further beyond my reach.

Take Some Time Off

Next year, I’m putting time aside to rest without feeling guilty about it. Whether it’s snowboarding Colorado’s mountains, cheering at more Miami Hurricane games or unplugging for a few quiet days, I’m pressing the pause button.

Increase Video Presence

I’m committing to taking the training wheels off my video strategy next year. It’s the perfect time to put my best smile forward! Through market insights, property tours and local guides, I hope to connect with clients in a more visual, engaging way. Video is a great way to show not just the homes as we sell, but the energy and passion that’s part of our work.

Delegate More, Focus on What Matters

I’m committing next year to stop trying to do it all myself. I am committing to being more trusting of my team and focusing instead on the work that only I can do: Building relationships, closing deals and steering the business toward its biggest opportunities. It’s hard for me to let go of control, but it’s crucial for the future of what I’ve created.

As I reflect and look forward to 2026, these resolutions are more than goals, they’re a map for showing up fully, serving others with integrity and growing smarter. I’m getting ready for a year with more focus, more presence and hopefully more snowboarding, grilling, and Hurricanes games along the way. I’ll see you here in 2026!
